I was born and raised in Rockingham County, Virginia, right up on the Blue Ridge Mountains. When I was 17 I moved to New York City to go to college and wound up staying there for six and a half years, including a lot of time spent on activism and teaching kids. Now I’m heading back to the mountains to fulfill my lifelong dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine, and using this blog as a medium to share my experience and explore identity and politics along the way.
I also identify as queer and trans (specifically I don’t identify as a man or a woman), and I use they/them/theirs pronouns. If you’re not familiar with they/them/theirs pronouns, you can learn more here.
